If your anything like us, your summer calendar is likely filling up very quickly! Summer in Milwaukee is certainly the best time of the year and there is so much to do. In fact, I’m sure you’ve come across at least 10 different June activity guides in the last week. I swear, everywhere I look there is another list of things to do in Milwaukee in June. Well, I’ve scoured all of those lists and pulled together my June top 5 activities for kids and parents:

June Top Five Activities for Kids

State Parks Free Fun Weekend | Website
When: Saturday, June 1st & Sunday, June 2nd
Where: All WI State Parks
What: On the first full weekend in June, the following outdoors activities are free for Wisconsin residents and visitors: Free entry to state parks and forests, free fishing, free DNR trails, free ATV/UTV riding on public trails open to such uses and free parking at all state parks.

Milwaukee Water Lantern Festival | Website
When: Saturday, June 8th, 5-10PM
Where: Veteran’s Memorial Park
What: Water Lantern Festival is filled with fun, happiness, hope, and great memories that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. This is a family friendly event that can be shared by everyone. Friends, families, neighbors, and lots of people that you haven’t met can come together to create a peaceful, memorable experience.
Admission/Tickets: $25 in advance, $40 day-of


Village of Brookfield Kids Fest | Website
When: Saturday, June 15th
Where: McCoy Park
What: Kids Fest is a free family event featuring a variety of kids activities, games, crafts, bounce house, rock wall, and live entertainment, with food and beverages available for purchase.

Strawberry Fest | Website
When: Saturday, June 22nd 10AM-6PM and Sunday, June 23rd 10AM-5PM
Where: Cedarburg
What: An annual celebration of the fruit of the season located in downtown Historic Cedarburg. You can enjoy everything strawberry, from strawberry shortcake to strawberry wine. Festival goers can stroll along the historic main street and find that perfect treasure at an arts and crafts fairs called “Art on the Avenue.” There is so much to do: live music, unique shopping, children’s activities, demonstrations, fun-filled contests, festival food and much more. Strawberry Festival is a fun-filled festival for the whole family.

East Tosa Grand Prix | Website 
When: Sunday, June 30th, 10AM
Where: 66th & North Ave.
What: Wauwatosa will serve as the host city for the final day of the Tour of America’s Dairyland cyling race series. As the largest competitive cycling event in the United States, this 11-day race will wind through several Wisconsin cities before ending right in East Tosa. This high energy day of racing brings Pro and Amateur racers from across the country and around the world! Several hundred men and women bicyclists will race past your house throughout the day, and energized spectators will line North Avenue! Thousands of residents and visitors will fill the streets to enjoy this free, family friendly event featuring food, beverages, local vendors, neighborhood parties and more!
